President’s Message
Hello SCC Nursing Alumni,
After a long pandemic-induced hiatus, the Nursing Alumni is active again. The board met earlier this spring and talked about our future direction.
The first question we asked ourselves was whether we should continue. We currently have 32 active members, which is just under the number we had before the pandemic hit. Previous efforts to increase our membership haven’t really been effective, so we decided we needed to try something different.
With that in mind, we have created a short survey to gauge interest in continuing the Nursing Alumni. The first question is whether we should continue or not. The balance of the questions concern what kind of things we could do if we do continue.
The survey can be found at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/HH9T2J3
There is a need for an active and robust SCC Nursing Alumni. Our nursing students and new graduates are facing many challenges as they prepare to enter a vastly changed workforce, and all the challenges that entails. The Nursing Alumni is in a position to support these students in a variety of ways, if we can grow the membership.
Please consider completing the survey, and giving some thought to how we can support our students and new graduates. If you have any comments about the survey, or the Nursing Alumni, please send us an email at scc.nursing.alumni@gmail.com
Mike Iredale, SCC Nursing Alumni President
