For more than 70 years, Mercy Medical Center Redding has offered comprehensive health care in the North State, providing acute care and a full range of medical services. The 267-bed hospital offers major medical services including a Level II Trauma Center as well as specialized Cardiovascular Care, Stroke Care, Orthopedics, Neurological Surgery, Comprehensive Cancer Care, Maternity Care, and da Vinci Robotic Surgery. It is the sole provider of obstetrical services, along with the only Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in Shasta County. In addition, the hospital’s network of care includes Mercy Home Health and Hospice and Dignity Health Connected Living. Mercy Medical Center Redding is a member of the Dignity Health system and is a sister facility to St. Elizabeth Community Hospital in Red Bluff and Mercy Medical Center Mt. Shasta. $52.59 - $71.48 /hour

- Performs routine physical/psychosocial assessment to collect basic data: follows the written plan of care, standards, practice guidelines, utilizes pathways, which includes notifying physicians as appropriate.
- Formulates a plan of care for individual needs, including patient population needs. Participates in the planning of routine transitional health care needs (i.e. treatment options, patient placement options).
- Adapts planned educational programs and information to individual patients and family by modifying teaching strategies or content. Integrates education during the delivery of patient care.
- Communicates patient's plan of care and significant changes to all members of the interdisciplinary team (using SBAR hands off reporting) and to the patient, family and significant others.
- Makes independent clinical decisions based on knowledge drawn from education and experience.
- Actively advocates for patient rights and identifies potential conflict. Seeks counsel for resolution of conflict.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 1 year recent open heart OR critical care experience. May consider training with one year of Telemetry or Step Down experience, if operational conditions exist.
- Training positions require completion of basic critical care and dysrhythmia classes.
- Associate degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing
- Verbal and written communication skills and computer skills
- Current California Registered Nurse license
- Current BLS, ACLS required (must be certified through the American Heart Association)
- PALS must be obtained within 12 months of hire into the position
- 12-lead EKG and shock class completion preferred.
